Join BCT
Building Community Together (BCT) is a youth driven organization in Sandusky County consisting of at most twenty-three youth in grades 8 -12. We are the Youth Division of Sandusky County Communities Foundation, Inc.
The board meets monthly typically on the second Sunday from 4:30pm-6:00pm to award grants for service projects that are presented by local organizations that have a youth/adult partnership. This board is run by youth who have the decision making power and partner with the adults to make sound decisions that will benefit Sandusky County. Once selected for the board, members must meet the attendance policy and adhere to the code of conduct.
The board regularly fundraises in order to sustain enough funds to award grants. Youth decide which projects are most beneficial to the community and deserve funding by reviewing applications, interviewing the groups, and discussing the projects with other youth board members.
Some examples of activities throughout the year include our annual pennies by the pound, and buckeye fundraisers, BCT retreat, and summer picnic.
